TAUNTON, MASSACHUSETTS: The Mechanics Cooperative Bank Board of Directors and Executive Leadership Team are pleased to announce the promotion of Colleen Barboza to Branch Manager of their Fall River location. The Bank is proud to add Ms. Barboza’s wealth of experience and customer service knowledge to their Branch Management Team.

Ms. Barboza began her banking career with People’s Credit Union in 1988 as a Teller. She worked at People’s for over 10 years first as a Main Teller, and then to Assistant Teller Supervisor, and then promoted again to Head Teller.
Ms. Barboza then took a short break from the banking industry as she worked as a dental assistant for the Tiverton Dental Association until the year 2000. Colleen then transitioned to McGovern’s Family Restaurant where she waitressed and supported the McGovern family as needed in all aspects of the business.
Her love for banking however brought her back to the industry when she took a position for St. Anne’s Credit Union in 2001. Colleen worked as an Assistant Teller Supervisor at their Fall River location before being promoted to Head Teller later that year.
Ms. Barboza was then hired by Bank Newport in 2004 as an Assistant Teller Supervisor at their Wellington Branch in Newport, RI. She was then promoted to a Floating CSR Supervisor and then transitioned to working in the Electronic Wire Department. Colleen was then tapped internally as a Teller Supervisor and was then promoted to Assistant Branch Manager/Branch Operations Manager at their Barrington RI location.
Colleen then started as a Personal Banker for Mechanics Cooperative Bank in January of 2019 and was quickly promoted to Assistant Branch Manager in their Somerset office. She was then appointed Branch Manager for the Fall River Branch in December of 2020.

Ms. Barboza currently lives in Tiverton with her family and is an active Board Member and Treasurer for the Tiverton Little League.
