Fall River, MA: Mechanics Cooperative Bank, and President and CEO Joseph T. Baptista Jr., are proud to announce their $10,000 donation in support of the Fall River United Way and their fuel/food assistance program to help those local families in need.
The $10,000 donation will help support the Fall River United Way and some of the 31+ health and human service agencies in the Fall River area. The benefits will be felt directly by local residents through the fuel assistance program and at food pantries and soup kitchens through the 2014 winter season. The Fall River United Way is a volunteer-driven organization, with support from community and business leaders, along with local health and human service agency representatives that is aimed at improving the health and human service agencies serving Fall River and the surrounding towns. Last year, the United Way and their affiliated agencies served over 65,000 people in need within our community. “Without this financial support and the commitment of local businesses like Mechanics Cooperative Bank, many local organizations and thousands of people in Greater Fall River would not get the help they desperately need,” said Bob Horne, Executive Director of the Fall River United Way. “We could not be more thankful to have a great local partner like Mechanics Cooperative Bank and cannot thank them enough for this gift at such an important time of year.” Joseph T. Baptista Jr., President and CEO of Mechanics Cooperative Bank commented, “The Fall River United Way has long been a vital resource to the City of Fall River and its residents – especially at this time of year. At Mechanics Cooperative Bank we are not only proud corporate supporters, but personal supporters as well through employee volunteerism and weekly payroll deductions – proof that our local employees understand the amazing benefits made possible by Executive Director, Robert Horne and the entire staff at the Fall River United Way.” For more information on how you can support the United Way visit www.UnitedWayGfr.org About Mechanics Cooperative Bank |
