TAUNTON, MA: The Taunton YMCA received direct contributions again this year from Mechanics Cooperative Bank employees as part of their Annual Capital Campaign. Mechanics Cooperative Bank Assistant Vice President and Loan Servicing Manager, and Taunton YMCA Board Member Kelly O’Connor, was the Team Captain for the employee fundraising initiative! The idea was simple, the Bank would hold 8 dress down days over the course of 8 weeks and for a $5 donation, employees could participate in as few or as many dress down days as they would like. O’Connor commented “Our employees really stepped up to the challenge this year and helped raise $1,400 for a great organization. Community banking is all about giving back and our through employee donations we are able to directly impact the lives of so many local families.” YMCA Strong Kids is an annual fundraising campaign held to raise funds and resources to help support local children, teens and young adults in our community. The donations made by Mechanics Cooperative Bank employees in 2017 will provide direct financial assistance for children and their families through YMCA memberships, child care, camp programs, recreation programs, teen programs, and special needs programs. These values-based programs provide the skills children need to grow into healthy, responsible adults.
