Mechanics Cooperative Bank commits $100,000 in support of the UMass Dartmouth’s $15 million, 22,000 square foot Charlton College of Business Learning Pavilion. This new building adjoins the existing Charlton College of Business building and provides new technology-enriched classrooms, meeting spaces, a business innovation center, and a 165-seat auditorium for undergraduate and graduate students. The new building was made possible by the generosity of local organizations like Mechanics Cooperative Bank.
“The Charlton College of Business is distinguishing itself across the board,” UMass Chancellor Johnson said. “This pursuit of excellence not only boosts the reputation of the CCB, but also elevates UMass Dartmouth and the entire UMass system. This could not happen without the local support of organizations like Mechanics.”
Total enrollment at the Charlton College of Business has grown from 1,810 to 1,935 over the last 10 years with the Charlton MBA program growing from 143 to 330. The college recently launched new Master of Science programs in Accounting, Health Care Management and Technology Management.
Mechanics Cooperative Bank President & CEO, Joseph T. Baptista Jr. commented “The new business school space will facilitate innovation and entrepreneurship by promoting collaboration among students, faculty, staff and the entire Southcoast community. We could not be more proud to be a strong supporter of this great University”
