Mechanics Cooperative Bank Board of Directors and Executive Leadership Team are proud to announce the appointmentof Edward Petras as Vice President, Commercial Lending. The Bank is proud to welcome Mr. Petras and excited to add his wealth of experience, knowledge and business development skills to our team.

Edward Petras, joins the organization with 15 years of banking experience on both the retail and lending side of the industry. He worked for both Sovereign Bank and Rockland Trust as a Business Development Officer II before joining Sharon Credit Union in 2012 as a Commercial Banking Officer. During his tenure at Sharon Credit Union, Mr. Petras was responsible for the growth of Commercial Real Estate and C&I portfolios while simultaneously teaming with local CDC’s to add SBA 504 lending to the credit union’s suite of CRE Products. He also increased his Loan Portfolio by $18MM within 18months while exceeding his development goals each year of employment.

Mr. Petras was honored by Banker and Tradesman in 2014 at their Annual Credit Union Heroes Reception. The award is given to recognize local credit union professionals who go above and beyond to better their institution and their community. The Award celebrates those individuals like Mr. Petras who have made outstanding contributions to the industry and community, giving freely of their time, energy and resources for volunteerism, community service and charity.

Mr. Petras lives in Brockton with his wife and two children while also dedicating his personal time to coaching for the Brookfield Little League and basketball at the Brockton YMCA.
