TAUNTON, MASSACHUSETTS: The Mechanics Cooperative Bank Board of Directors and Executive Leadership Team are pleased to announce their partnership with the United Way of Greater Fall River on a winter clothing drive (for both adults and children)! The need for warm coats, hats, gloves, and mittens is great in our community right now and Mechanics Cooperative Bank would like to help.

We’re encouraging everyone to consider donating new or gently used winter coats, hats, gloves, and (new) socks. Mechanics Cooperative Bank will be collecting these items at our Fall River branch, 60 Bedford Street, Fall River and will deliver them to the Fall River United Way for distribution to partner agencies throughout Greater Fall River.  Every item donated will stay here in Greater Fall River!

The Mechanics Cooperative Bank coat drive will run from November 1st through November 15th, and we thank you in advance for your help and support.

President and CEO of Mechanics Cooperative Bank, Joseph T. Baptista Jr. commented “On the amazing work done by the Untied Way of Fall River and their staff in direct support of children and families in Fall River. The need for warm clothing is significant this year and Mechanics Cooperative Bank understands a single item of clothing can make a big difference. Wea re happy to help.”

United Way of Greater Fall River believes everyone deserves opportunities for a good life: a quality education that leads to sustaining job opportunities, enough income to support a family, and a good, healthy lifestyle that increases life expectancy.

These unprecedented times have put United Way’s purpose to the test. Their mission “to improve lives by mobilizing people to invest in the community where their resources are needed most” has never been more relevant.  They support partner agencies with sustainable funding, recognizing that their presence is needed now more than ever. The need for access to behavioral and mental health clinics, crisis hotlines, food pantries and soup kitchens, job assistance and training, early childhood education and youth services is greater now than it has been in recent history.  Together with our partner agencies, we are engaging in the work to respond, recover, reimagine, and rebuild Greater Fall River as a community, post-pandemic.
